Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

· Authors are encouraged to submit scholarly manuscripts relevant to the education of Africans and Caribbean peoples for publication in the Arawak Review of Education.

· Manuscripts should be sent electronically to the Arawak Review of Education.

· The submitted article should not have been previously published, nor should it be currently before another journal for consideration.

· Manuscripts should be double-spaced using 12 point font, with one inch margins; and should follow the APA formatting and style guide. Figures and tables should be placed in the body of the text. Articles should not exceed 30 typed written pages, including notes and references. The submission file should be in Microsoft word document or HTML document file format. All URL addresses in the text should be activated and ready to click.

· The first page of the manuscript should contain the title of the paper, an abstract of 50 to 100 words, and two to five comprehensive key words. Each page should be numbered consecutively, including pages of notes, references, and captions.

· To ensure anonymity the paper should be prepared for blind review with no properties identifying the author or author's institutions. The title of the paper, the author's name and full affiliation address including email must be supplied in a separate file attached to the same email as the manuscript's submission.

· Upon receipt, your articles will be sent for review. The reviews will determine whether your article will be published in the journal. Please remember that most articles selected for publishing will require some revision based on the reviews.

Copyright Notice

· Copyright for articles published in this journal is retained by the authors, with first publication rights granted to the journal. However, their appearance in this open access journal signifies that articles are free to use, with proper attribution, in educational and other non-commercial settings.

· The names and email address in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purpose of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review) have been followed.
